Chanel Illusion D'ombre Eye Shadow E'Bluoi

In keeping with the Chanel theme , this is one of the much raved about Chanel Illusion D'ombre eyeshadows in E'bluoi that the boyfriend picked up for me a while ago. I have been meaning to write a post about this but never had the time. Since it's my birthday tomorrow, i'm planning to finally wear it. Perfect timing rite:)

It's a gorgeous brown shade with gold shimmer running through it, simply stunning. The consistency of this shadow is rather peculiar, it's a mousse with  a sponge like texture that glides on like a dream. You can use it as a base, a wash of colour all over the lids or even just to line the eyes. It does come with a mini brush for application if your in a pinch.

I'm looking forward to seeing how this holds up against my oily lids, hopefully they last longer than the Mac paint pots on me * fingers crossed*

Have you tried these eye shadows? Thoughts?

Early Christmas Presents

Since i wouldn't be spending Christmas in Sydney this year with the boyfriend and his family, we had a pre-Christmas pressie opening, a day before i left for Malaysia. I had previously mentioned that i was lemming for some Chanel makeup and he was sweet enough to ask me to pick out a few items I wanted.  Boy was it hard!! but i finally decided on  a gorgeous blush and a lipstick to match. I have yet to use them, as I am waiting for my b'day i.e New Years Eve to slap them on *yay*

Rouge Coco 05 Mademoiselle
Powder Blush 82 Reflex

I will be away in Singapore during the Christmas period and so I would like to wish all my lovely readers  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! Hope you guys have a wonderful holiday wherever you are:)

NOTD- Essie Very Structured

Dissapointment. Dissapointment in a bottle is all i have to say about this particular Essie polish. In the bottle/online it looked like a gorgeous burnt brown shade. That obviously didn't translate onto my nails. Instead it came out like any other chocolate coloured polish.
Oh well , you learn i guess. I swear swatches online made this colour look more like a burnt orange/chocolate shade rather than a plain chocolate. My bad.

Have you ever been disappointed by a nail polish colour?

Black Friday Haul

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving in America where there are massive sales in store and online. Of course i decided to take advantage of this day as some of the sales on offer were ridiculous. Example being TheBalm cosmetics, which i have been wanting to try for a very long time. I was thrilled to find that they ship internationally as many companies don't, so yay for TheBalm!!

I decided to pick up some of the blushers as i have seem many vloggers/bloggers rave about them as well as the infamous Mary-Lou Manizer highlight.

The packaging is so cute, very retro 50's inspired pictures.

Mary-Lou Manizer Luminizer, Frat Boy, Down Boy, Cabana Boy

Do you take advantage of the crazy Black Friday sales?

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters - Lip Swatches

So as promised here are the swatches of the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters that i recently purchased and did a first impressions HERE. Now I have since bought a few more colours and there will be a second post with swatches of them.

So what do i think:
Lasting power, nothing great than any ordinary lippy. 2 hours of wear before i need a touch up.

They do not dry out my lips surprisingly as i tend to get very dry lips when i use most lipsticks and have to apply a balm in between touch ups, i guess the name lip butters does have some truth to it;)

Colour selection is pretty awesome, all though as you can see from the swatches some colours do not suit me, I am totally in love with Tutti Frutti and Red Velvet. Basically there is bound to be a colour that you might like.

Peach Parfait is the only sparkly shade I have and it's definitely not gritty in texture and decently pigmented. The other shades just have a glossy finish to them.

Creme Brulee
Berry Smoothie

Pink Truffle

Peach Parfait

Tutti Frutti

Red Velvet

I'm loving these lippys at the moment, I find i tend to reach for them more so than my other lippys. And considering the amount I have, this says a lot:)
Look out for Part 2 soon.

FOTN - First Year Done!!

I'm done!! 1 year of pharmacy school is done and dusted. It was a hard and long road, lots of blood, sweat and tears shed but u know what, it was all worth it. Bring on the holidays and second year *yikes*

So last Friday, to celebrate the end of first year, we had the Pharmacy ball and as a treat to myself * i also needed all the help i could get to undo what exam stress had done to me;) I decided to book in for my makeup to be done at the local Mac counter. And boy was i happy with the results.

The lovely MUA Elanora did a wonderful job. I asked for a dewy/glowy/wideyed look and she delivered.
Can i just say individual fake lashes are DA BOMB!!!!! I have never ever used any fake lashes ever in my life and i decided to give them a try. The MUA recommend individual lashes as they look more natural and i LOVED them. Now i know how Kim K feels!!

I can't remember every thing she used , i know naughty blogger but i was too excited/rushed throughout the day that i didn't have everything written down so apologies for that.

Face - Mac Mineral Foundation, Mac Melba, Mac MSF Soft n Gentle

Lips - She did use Mac Morange initially with a lip brush but i touched up with Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti

Eyes - Mac Still Life Paint, Phloof inner corner, Gleam and Mythology all over the lid and Black Tied to smoke it out slightly, Mac Blacktrack Fluid line, and tons of individual lashes.

I absolutely recommend getting your makeup done at a Mac or even any makeup counter of your choice for a big event. It was a great experience talking to a professional makeup artist, discussing different products and it's just convenient. I loved every minute of it and will definitely be back for graduation year:)

Seduced By the Glitter Gods

So as mentioned in a previous post, I have been seduced by the Glitter Gods of nail polish. In other words i kinda went nuts on some shimmery/glittery nail polishes. It started off with Excuse Moi from the Opi Muppets collection and i thought that would be it. But oh no, was i wrong.

Enabled by several nail bloggers with their gorgeous swatches of beautiful glitter polishes, namely from the Muppets collection I kinda went nuts. All though Designer de, Better! and Warm and Fozzie aren't chunky glitter polishes, they're more of fine glitter particles that are gorgeous in different lighting. And yes i did have to finally pick up Teenage Dream, i must be the last person on earth, It's out of this world i admit, simply stunning.

Opi Excuse Moi, Designer de, Better!, Warm and Fozzie, Teenage Dreams

Btw i'm done with uni for 7 weeks!!!!So i shall hopefully be back to regular postings and catching up on my fav blogs that i've missed out on so many post. Till then xox

First Impressions - Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters

These are all the craze on Youtube/ in the blogosphere. Our lucky fellow bloggers from across the pond have been raving about these lippies . So i finally gave in and purchased 6 of these lippies through trusty old eBay and these are my first impressions on them.

Initially as i swatched them on my hand they struck me as to being waxy in texture as opposed to creamy which was what I imagined them to be. I mean come on, lip butter, no brainer rite. So i was a little disappointed there, but as i kept playing around with them them, trying them on my lips i came to the conclusion that despite not being as moisturizing as i expected them to be, i really like them.

Main reason being, i can see myself being able to slap this on when i'm in a pinch. These are definitely the kind of lipsticks you don't have to think about when applying. The lighter shades give a slight colour and glossiness to the lips and the darker shades are more pigmented if you want a little more colour on your lips. Despite being waxy in formulation they feel good on my lips, so it feels like a balm but with more colour payoff.

My  picks out of the bunch are Tutti Frutti, a gorgeous coral which is so gonna be my go-to for summer and Red Velvet. This is definitely a red i will be able to rock in the daytime, in fact anytime without feeling odd.
I haven't as yet tested out they're lasting power and how moisturizing they are etc as i have been stuck in my room studying and having a whole week of no makeup, so I will be doing lip swatches in an upcoming post together with my final thoughts on them after i give them a proper test run.

Top to bottom: Creme Brulee, Peach Parfait, Pink Truffle, Tutti Frutti, Berry Smoothie, Red Velvet

Overall based on first impressions, I am impressed. So impressed that I  have already put in another order online for other shades!!!I'm crazy i know ;)

Have you tried Revlon Lip Butters? What are your thoughts?

NOTD- Australis Bombshell & Opi Excuse Moi

I've gone glitter crazy. I never thought this day would come but i have succumbed to the craze of glitter nails. Before i go into it i will be doing a seperate post on the few glitter nail polishes i have hauled recently. This post is on my first experimentation with some glitter.

Now i have always stayed away from them mainly because they're a massive pain in the behind to remove. Yes i'm a lazy, lazy girl and i do not like to spend a heck of a long time removing my nail polish.
But i was feeling adventurous, so i first picked out Bombshell as I was in the mood for a bright *bam* in your face pink exam stress maybe who knows and it turned out gorgeous.

Australis Bombshell*

A gorgeous barbie pink for a statement nail.

Then i spied this. Opi Excuse Moi, it's orgasmic don't you think. I sure do;)

The final result, i heart glitter.I played it safe though, only painting my middle and ring finger,  but i'll get there eventually.
What are your thought on glitter polishes? Are you a lazy biatch like me, or do you go the whole nine yards?

*Disclaimer: I received this product as part of the Australian Beauty Blogger Weekend (ABBW) goody bag. This does not affect my thoughts and opinions on the product. I am and will always be 100% honest :)

FOTN- Knock on Wood

I've been totally MIA, sorry guys but my exams start this week and i'm stressed. Stressed to the point my credit card is suffering due to my destressing methods of online shopping when i'm bludging read studying.

Anyways back to the post. Here's a FOTN i came up with for a night out several weeks ago. Ah i miss dressing up, lately its just been moisturizer i.e i look like crap. Such is a life of a uni student;)
Oh well at least i have my online purchases to look forward to.

Face - Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation Sandy Beige, Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer Natural Beige, Mac MSFN Medium Dark.
Cheeks - Nars Laguna Bronzer, Milani Baked Blush Berry Amore, Benefit Moon Beam Highlighter.

Eyes - UDPP, Mac Paint Pot Nubile, Wet N Wild Colour Icon Knock On Wood, Benefit BadGal Lash, Mirennese Tight Liner Foxfur Brown.
Lips - Mac l/s Mehr, Nyx Round l/g Pinky Natural.

I have to say I have been loving these Wet N Wild Colour Icon Palettes. They're just so easy to chuck into your  makeup bag and come up with a look without having to dig through your collection. Very blendable and extremely smooth all though, because they're so super soft, when you tap your brush into it beware of it crumbling.

Nyx Round Lipstick Swatches Part 3

This is a continuation of my Nyx round lipstick collection. You can see swatches previously done HERE and HERE. I picked up a couple more of their older and some new shades they recently came out with. I always tend to pick these up when Cherry Culture has a 20% sale ever so often as I feel these lipsticks are inexpensive and just a great way to play around with different shades witout breaking the bank.

Just a heads up. I seem to have picked a range of pink lipsticks, but hey, a gal can never have too many pink lipsticks now, can she;)

L to R: Blush, Stella, Chic, Muse and Cocoa

Blush - a cool toned baby pink, the kind that i can easily pull off.

Stella - Another baby pink very similar to blush but slightly brighter, as usual swatches online never do help, oh well thank god i love my pinks!

Chic - hmmm maybe i really wasn't in the right frame of mind when i made this purchase. This is a tad lighter and pinker than blush and a little frosty in real life.

Muse - a frosty silvery pinky colour that i'm actually not a fan off, might pawn this one off to a friend. A little too frosty for my liking.

Cocoa - Finally something different:) A darker brown that i actually really like, suits my skin tone well and great for a darker nudie lip day.

FOTN- Loreal Infailible Shadows

Neutral eyes are a fav of mine. It's my fail safe eye look to go to, a shimmery champagne on the lid, darker warm brown in the crease. I love it! Goes with anything and everything and warmer colours definitely compliment my skin colour. Especially now since its summer the whole warm and bronzy looks is definitely in so, i'm in? :)

I created this looks using my new Loreal Infalilible eyeshadows. I find it's best to use my fingers when applying these shadows as a brush just doesn't seem to pick up enough product and place it down evenly. So i initially used my fingers to place the colour on my eyes then a blending brush to finish the look.

Face - Benefit POREfessional, Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation 55, Mac MSFN Medium Dark, Garnier Roll On Anti Dark Circle Concealer in Medium.

Cheeks - Mac Highlight Powder Marine Life, Benefit Girl Meets Pearl

Lips - Mac Sheen Supreme Ultra Darling

Eyes - UDPP , Loreal Infailible Shadows in Hourglass Beige on the lid and Endless Chocolate in the crease, Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Cottage Cheese as brow and inner corner highlight, Milani Liquifeye Brown, Mac Haute & Naughty Mascara.

Hope you have an awesome week ahead:)

Weekly Blush Love: Milani Luminoso

Recently my weeks have been ending on Wednesday and i get a 4 day weekend. Lucky you say, true but i have a ton of stuff to do, from assignments to weekly assessments and catching up on a ton of lectures. Hence the title.

This particular bush, Luminoso has definitely been high on rotation not only this week but all of the past month. These baked blushers reminiscent of Mac mineralized blushers are definitely worth a try. They are pigmented without being overly pigmented which sometimes i hate in a blush * hello Nars*

I have picked up quite a few of these baked blushers and i have to say they are fantastic! Luminoso is the least shimmery of the lot, not that i hate shimmer but it gives a pretty slightly shimmery glow to my face. Peachy pinks always look good on my skintone and i really love this shade.  Easily blended out and I pretty much have a peachy glow throughout my day at uni.

Have you tried the Milani baked blushers? Which are your favs?

My Most Recent Mac Purchase

Paint pots...where do I begin. Up until a year ago i had no idea what paint pots were let alone that they existed.  Obviously now being a makeup junkie and all i may have a little obsession. Unfortunately for me though, these lovely pots of colourful goodness crease on me. Badly. Yes i'm one of those people with oily lids that can never get any creamy product to not crease on my lids...aaarghhhh!!! I have to say though with a primer, it last a little longer minus the creasing but inevitably they all crease on me:(

Despite all the creasing going on, I have come to accumulate a few paint pots, don't ask me why. I guess i like how shiny and creamy they look in the pot when you first get them and have some hope inside me that maybe, just maybe this one will be the one, this one won't crease..... *fat chance*

My most recent paint pot purchase came out with the Posh Paradise collection not too long ago. Nubile, is a matte peachy pink shade that i just couldn't resist. I know no shimmer and shine but somehow this baby called out to me at the Mac stand. I would love to be able to use it as a wash of colour all over the lid on a daily basis.

I have high hopes for Nubile, hopes that this won't crease on me. If you have any ideas please let me know:)

NOTD- American Apparel Factory Grey

I am a nail polish freak, there's no doubt about it and i really do seem to have a problem. I cant stop!!!
I had always wanted to try some American Apparel nail polishes for the longest time so i decided to pay a visit to the store in Sydney. And boy did I go crazy, I picked up 6 polishes as they were selling 3 for AUD$28. Not to bad i say:)

Factory Grey is a a blue toned grey that just looks very mature and classy on the nails. These polishes are definitely worth it, opaque in 2 coats and apply so smooth. I absolutely love the bottle, it's so sleek and extremely handy to store.

Have you tried American Apparel nail polishes? What are your favourites?

The Lipstick Tag

Amanda from Thai-tales tagged me to do the lipstick tag and i was thrilled to do it:) I have seen it around some of my favourite blogs and have always wanted a chance to get it done so here goes!!

How many lipsticks do you own?
I am ashamed* bows head in shame*, that's all i can say...can we all say lipstick junkie. Hmmm maybe around  70+

When  you were child, did you use your mother's lipsticks?
Who didn't!!! i remember going through my moms lippies when she was at work and putting on the darker shades because thats what she loved, and impersonating her and feeling very mature.

How old were you when you bought your first lipstick?
14/15 and i remember it being a Revlon lipstick and may have been called Brick.

What is your newest lipstick?
My new Inglot babies!!! For swatches click HERE. Have yet to take these babies on a test run but will definitely be doing so soon.

Inglot 222 and 104
The most expensive lipstick I have ever bought?
Dior lippies, love them!!! Creamy, highly pigmented and just luxurious.

Rouge Dior 066 Diorama, Diorific 028 Rose Volage
And the cheapest?
Hands down Nyx, highly recommended if your a lippy junkie like myself:)

L to R: Nyx lipsticks in Pink Lyric, Tweed, Blush, Heredes, Cocoa
What's the most bizarre thing you have done with a lipstick?
Can't say i have done anything weird sorry.

If you had to recommend a lipstick what brand would you recommend and why?
For higher end definitely MAC as they have some gorgeous colours and various formulas that would suit everyone.
Drugstore, I really have been liking the Covergirl Lip Perfection lipsticks. The shade range in Australia is a little limited but they are nonetheless lovely lipsticks.
And of coure Nyx, massive colour range and if your on a budget this brand is the way to go!

Pink or red?
Pink gal here!! Always:)

Favourite pink?
Mac Ever Hip is fast becoming my fav. I have to be honest, when i first got it, it just didn't work for me but now i just cant stop reaching for it. Please repromote it Mac gods!!!

Mac Ever Hip
Favourite red?
Ok this may be considered cheating but i think this definitely falls into the lipstick category despite it being called a gloss. The Rouge Dior Creme De Gloss in 845 definitely applies like a lipstick and is absolutely gorgeous for a dramatic red. For lip swatches click HERE

Rouge Dior Creme De Gloss 845
Favourite nude?
Rimmel Nude Delight,  its hard for me to find one that will not make me look like a corpse.

Rimmel Nude Delight
Favourite dark shade?
Mac Rich Reserve, don't ask me why but sometime i like to rock this rich chocolate brown lippy on nites out. It may not look scary to some but to me, a always have a pink lipstick on kinda gal, this is way outta my comfort zone.

Mac Rish Reserve

L to R: Rimmel Nude Delight, Mac Ever Hip, Rouge Dior Creme De Gloss 845, Mac Rich Reserve.
I tag everyone who feels like doing this and in particular, I would love to have a sneak peak into these lovely ladies collections.

FOTN- A Little Bit of Sleek

I've been a little bit obsessed with the UK brand Sleek this past month. They are a fantastic drugstore brand in the UK, mostly known for their ever famous eyeshadow palettes. I do have a few palettes along with the pout polishes and recently, I picked up a couple of their lipsticks. For swatches of the lipsticks click HERE

Since I have been trying to get more creative/bolder with my colour choices, I dug out my Sunset palette and came up with this for a night out. Now the Sunset palette is full of warmer earthy tones so not a giant step into bolder colours for me but it's a start rite:) In the end, the eyes ended up being quite neutral but I then decided to make a statement with my lippy choice and voila.

Face - Benefit POREfessional, Laura Mercier Mineral Powder Classic Beige, Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Sand, Milani Dolce Pink, Benefit Moon Beam

Eyes - UDPP, Sleek Sunset Palette, Estee Lauder Black Liner, Mac Haute and Naughty

Lips - Sleek Papaya Punch

For us Aussies you can purchase Sleek online from their website HERE
