My Most Recent Mac Purchase

Paint pots...where do I begin. Up until a year ago i had no idea what paint pots were let alone that they existed.  Obviously now being a makeup junkie and all i may have a little obsession. Unfortunately for me though, these lovely pots of colourful goodness crease on me. Badly. Yes i'm one of those people with oily lids that can never get any creamy product to not crease on my lids...aaarghhhh!!! I have to say though with a primer, it last a little longer minus the creasing but inevitably they all crease on me:(

Despite all the creasing going on, I have come to accumulate a few paint pots, don't ask me why. I guess i like how shiny and creamy they look in the pot when you first get them and have some hope inside me that maybe, just maybe this one will be the one, this one won't crease..... *fat chance*

My most recent paint pot purchase came out with the Posh Paradise collection not too long ago. Nubile, is a matte peachy pink shade that i just couldn't resist. I know no shimmer and shine but somehow this baby called out to me at the Mac stand. I would love to be able to use it as a wash of colour all over the lid on a daily basis.

I have high hopes for Nubile, hopes that this won't crease on me. If you have any ideas please let me know:)

NOTD- American Apparel Factory Grey

I am a nail polish freak, there's no doubt about it and i really do seem to have a problem. I cant stop!!!
I had always wanted to try some American Apparel nail polishes for the longest time so i decided to pay a visit to the store in Sydney. And boy did I go crazy, I picked up 6 polishes as they were selling 3 for AUD$28. Not to bad i say:)

Factory Grey is a a blue toned grey that just looks very mature and classy on the nails. These polishes are definitely worth it, opaque in 2 coats and apply so smooth. I absolutely love the bottle, it's so sleek and extremely handy to store.

The Lipstick Tag

Amanda from Thai-tales tagged me to do the lipstick tag and i was thrilled to do it:) I have seen it around some of my favourite blogs and have always wanted a chance to get it done so here goes!!

How many lipsticks do you own?
I am ashamed* bows head in shame*, that's all i can say...can we all say lipstick junkie. Hmmm maybe around  70+

When  you were child, did you use your mother's lipsticks?
Who didn't!!! i remember going through my moms lippies when she was at work and putting on the darker shades because thats what she loved, and impersonating her and feeling very mature.

How old were you when you bought your first lipstick?
14/15 and i remember it being a Revlon lipstick and may have been called Brick.

What is your newest lipstick?
My new Inglot babies!!! For swatches click HERE. Have yet to take these babies on a test run but will definitely be doing so soon.

Inglot 222 and 104
The most expensive lipstick I have ever bought?
Dior lippies, love them!!! Creamy, highly pigmented and just luxurious.

Rouge Dior 066 Diorama, Diorific 028 Rose Volage
And the cheapest?
Hands down Nyx, highly recommended if your a lippy junkie like myself:)

L to R: Nyx lipsticks in Pink Lyric, Tweed, Blush, Heredes, Cocoa
What's the most bizarre thing you have done with a lipstick?
Can't say i have done anything weird sorry.

If you had to recommend a lipstick what brand would you recommend and why?
For higher end definitely MAC as they have some gorgeous colours and various formulas that would suit everyone.
Drugstore, I really have been liking the Covergirl Lip Perfection lipsticks. The shade range in Australia is a little limited but they are nonetheless lovely lipsticks.
And of coure Nyx, massive colour range and if your on a budget this brand is the way to go!

Pink or red?
Pink gal here!! Always:)

Favourite pink?
Mac Ever Hip is fast becoming my fav. I have to be honest, when i first got it, it just didn't work for me but now i just cant stop reaching for it. Please repromote it Mac gods!!!

Mac Ever Hip
Favourite red?
Ok this may be considered cheating but i think this definitely falls into the lipstick category despite it being called a gloss. The Rouge Dior Creme De Gloss in 845 definitely applies like a lipstick and is absolutely gorgeous for a dramatic red. For lip swatches click HERE

Rouge Dior Creme De Gloss 845
Favourite nude?
Rimmel Nude Delight,  its hard for me to find one that will not make me look like a corpse.

Rimmel Nude Delight
Favourite dark shade?
Mac Rich Reserve, don't ask me why but sometime i like to rock this rich chocolate brown lippy on nites out. It may not look scary to some but to me, a always have a pink lipstick on kinda gal, this is way outta my comfort zone.

Mac Rish Reserve

L to R: Rimmel Nude Delight, Mac Ever Hip, Rouge Dior Creme De Gloss 845, Mac Rich Reserve.
I tag everyone who feels like doing this and in particular, I would love to have a sneak peak into these lovely ladies collections.

FOTN- A Little Bit of Sleek

I've been a little bit obsessed with the UK brand Sleek this past month. They are a fantastic drugstore brand in the UK, mostly known for their ever famous eyeshadow palettes. I do have a few palettes along with the pout polishes and recently, I picked up a couple of their lipsticks. For swatches of the lipsticks click HERE

Since I have been trying to get more creative/bolder with my colour choices, I dug out my Sunset palette and came up with this for a night out. Now the Sunset palette is full of warmer earthy tones so not a giant step into bolder colours for me but it's a start rite:) In the end, the eyes ended up being quite neutral but I then decided to make a statement with my lippy choice and voila.

Face - Benefit POREfessional, Laura Mercier Mineral Powder Classic Beige, Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Sand, Milani Dolce Pink, Benefit Moon Beam

Eyes - UDPP, Sleek Sunset Palette, Estee Lauder Black Liner, Mac Haute and Naughty

Lips - Sleek Papaya Punch

For us Aussies you can purchase Sleek online from their website HERE

NOTD- Ulta3 Blue Marlin

When I first put this polish on i thought, this is definitely a toe colour. It was way to "in your face kinda blue" for my fingernail liking. As the day wore on, I thought differently. Everytime i would look down at my nails I would say out loud "they're really pretty". It's a really striking deep navy blue that just adds to a simple outfit.  I don't usually try to coordinate my outfits with my nail polish, I just go with the flow.

This polish applied opaque in 2 coats and lasted a good 5 days with minimal tip wear and no chipping. Pretty good in my books. I think the names cute too;)

Final thoughts; it would make an awesome toe and fingernail colour.

Disclaimer: I received this product as part of the Australian Beauty Blogger Weekend (ABBW) goody bag. This does not affect my thoughts and opinions on the product. I am and will always be 100% honest :)

My Lazy Neutral Eye Days

Now if there's one thing I would skip in my rushed daily makeup routine it would definitely be eyeshadow. Somehow I always feel a little overdone when i have the full eye makeup going on i.e lid, crease and a highlight for daily wear. But after reading a ton of blogs and feeling a little bit inspired  *also my ton of shadows just sitting there staring at me* I decided to try and make an effort over the past few weeks with my eye makeup application.

I decided to start with some neutral shadows just as a wash of colour all over the lid. So using a fluffy blending brush, I apply the shadow and blend it in. Not too obvious but still makes my eyes appear brighter. Smudge some brown liner, add tons of mascara and i'm done.

These are the shadows that i have been reaching for a lot. I'm hoping to add some bolder colours into my routine and just stop being lazy in the mornings.

IMATS Haul + Swatches

I had previously been to IMATS last year, and wasn't too impressed. Namely because many of the big names weren't there and when you compared it to the IMATS in LA and London, it's pretty low key. This year, whole different story. Many more makeup brands were there namely Inglot, Mac and Illamasqua so I was looking forward to seeing them displaying their stuff. Plus I was there as part of the 85 strong ABBW team which made it all the more fun. Makeup with a whole bunch of beauty bloggers, can't get better than that rite!

Powdered Metal Ether, Cream Blusher Laid, Precision Ink Alchemy and Pure Pigment Marvel
First stop was Illamasqua. they were having insane discounts, most things were around AUD$10, so i went a little nuts.
Ether, Laid, Alchemy and Marvel

Prior to IMATS i had envisioned myself witha  new 10 pan Inglot palette. Ever since they increased their prices i have been put off by them, but i heard over twitter that they would be offering a 30% discount at IMATS and thought now's my chance to get my hands on some new shades. Of course everyone else had the same idea, so the lines were long and the wait was painful but i'm happy with the items i purchased.

Inglot lipsticks in 222 and 104

222 and 104

L to R: DS 463, Matte 327,337,344 and 354
L to R: AMC Shine 29, 35, 10, Pearl 413 and AMC 56

Finally, I picked up a few brushes, the Pod which is a beauty blender knock-off and a mini empty brush role. Overall I was happy with my purchases, might have gone a little over budget but can't do anything about that now;)

Separate to my haul, as part of the ABBW we were basically treated like VIPs, There was a mini mani/makeup/nibbles areas set up for us ladies to rest our poor feet from standing to long in the lines thanks to Royal & Langnickel. We also received a a mini brush roll from the lovely people from Royal & Langnickel which will come in handy for travelling. The people from Serge Louise Alvarez were also extremely kind to have a lucky dip of their makeup products. I managed to score myself a pretty goldie brown lipgloss. A massive thank you to the lovely sponsors for the wonderful gifts!!

What did you purchase at IMATS? Did you break the bank;)
