Lip Creams....Yummy?

They smell like cupcake batter and they come in pretty colours. I was sucked in, it was a given.
I find these Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creams rather convenient for touch ups and on the go moments, no need for a mirror or fussing about with clean lines. I do have to mention though that you need extremely well exfoliated lips to pull them off. As the name suggest, anything matte will emphasis any flakiness or lines especially if your lips are cracked and dry, especially now thanks to the harsh winter weather.

Still, their affordable and when Cherry Culture has a sale, definitely snap them up. My favs of the bunch would have to be San Paulo and Antwerp. Gorgeous colours that are great for uni/work.

BareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow Duos 2.0

I did some hauling recently!! This time i managed to stay away from blushers and lipsticks, surprise surprise. Hopefully I'm not heading into an eyeshadow craze!!!

So BareMinerals have always been known as a lose mineral makeup company, basically everything they made, from eyeshadows, blush to face powders and foundations were all in loose form. That's great for those who enjoy them. Personally, i do like the occasional mineral powder and blush but when it comes to pigments, it's a hit or miss and most of the time a miss. Don't get me wrong, i have a couple of pigments from various brands but i generally tend to use them when i have a ton of time to play around with my makeup look, which recently hasn't been very often. So when BareMinerals launched their ready eyeshadow line, which is basically various palettes of pressed shadows, the beauty community was abuzz about it. It took me a while to check them out and I'm sure glad i did.

The Top Shelf and The Epiphany

First impressions, these shadows are super smooth and buttery to the touch. Pigmentation is fantastic and the shade selection is pretty awesome. I think they did a good job pairing a lot of the duos and quads. I purchased mine based on swatches i had seen on Temptalia and if your interested she has a very comprehensive review on all of the palettes they currently have out.

The Top Shelf: Mixologist and Cognac, The Epiphany: A-ha and Foreshadow

I'm guessing this is only the beginning for me, they also have blushers as well as their ever famous mineral veil in pressed form. I must resist!!!

Tendertone Hype?

Giving into the hype...does that happen to you sometimes. You find yourself so taken by all the blogpost or the YouTube videos where people are just raving about a specific product and you succumb to the hype. This, is a product like many others i succumbed to and the outcome you ask? .... Yes it is worth the hype!

I picked up 3 of the much talked about tendertones that recently came out with the Mac Shop, Mac Cook collection online. I was expecting them to be moisturizing but not necessarily pigmented and I was pleasantly surprised. Now they aren't any was pigmented like a lippy but they do give off a decent amount of colour that i could get away with only wearing this throughout the day.

Mac Hot N Spicy, Hush Hush and Purring
Moisturizing properties you ask? that's the million dollar question! It does as it says.  They feel luscious on the lips, glide on smoothly and don't feel sticky to me. The smell is a fruity citrus scent that makes the application all the more better. I just love slathering this on throughout the day and have the scent lingering around.

You High-Light Up My Life

Corny I know! but seriously i have been in love with two new highlighters recently, and just cant get enough of them. These in fact are new additions to my collection.

First up, my go-to day time highlighter, Hush Cream Colour Base from Mac.
This is a subtle highlight perfect for day wear. Its definitely is a pink tinged highlighter, something a little different and i think the reason its more daytime wearable. It just blends into my skin and gives a subtle yet colourful sheen without being Bam! in your face. It's waxy in consistency, so you have to warm up the product with your fingers and work with it a little.

Mac Hush Cream Color Base and TheBalm Mary Lou-Manizer
Next up, my nights out option and my new current obsession, TheBalm Mary Lou-Manizer. I did pick this up quite a while ago, but have only been recently using it as i have decided to make a conscious effort to shop my stash and found this gem sitting in my collection. If your looking for the JLo glow, this is it ladies! A yellowy gold shimmer that is definitely more obvious but gorgeous nevertheless, to die for!

Mac Kissable Lipcolours

In the recent Mac Shop, Mac Cook collection out in the States, they repromoted some shades of the Kissable Lip colour. Now i had picked up a couple of these liquid lipstick hybrid when they initally came out in the Peacocky collection sometime last year. Trust Mac to have a billion and one collections out at any given time! So as this collection has yet to hit Aussie shores, i thought i would do a mini swatcheroo and post my thoughts on them.

I find these Lipcolours,as they're called act like a lipstick/stain. After eating and drinking, i do find some colour still visible and i just need a little top up and i'm good to go. They're extremely creamy and apply smoothly. I do enjoy busting these babies out from time to time, hence why i chose a nude, a vibrant coral and a pinky colour.

One con i have with the product is the lenght of the wand. I am not a fan. I find it way too long,so its harder to manipulate in a way for me. If it was just a tad bit shorter, it would be perfect.

Msc Kissable LipColours in Super, Exxx-hibitionist and So Vain

Super, Exxx-hibitionist and So Vain

Only 1 of the shades, So Vain is being repromoted but they are some pretty colours coming out in the Mac Shop, Mac Cook collection. Definitely do check them out!

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters - Lip Swatches Part 2

This is a continuation of more Revlon Lip butters that i picked up after making my first purchase. Yes i did go a little nuts with these lippies *hides face in shame*. But i love them:)
These i would say are some of the brighter shades. Lollipop is definitely a lip colour that is way out of my comfort zone but u know what, new year, new resolutions. I'm gonna try rock this baby!

Chanel Illusion D'ombre Eye Shadow E'Bluoi

In keeping with the Chanel theme , this is one of the much raved about Chanel Illusion D'ombre eyeshadows in E'bluoi that the boyfriend picked up for me a while ago. I have been meaning to write a post about this but never had the time. Since it's my birthday tomorrow, i'm planning to finally wear it. Perfect timing rite:)

It's a gorgeous brown shade with gold shimmer running through it, simply stunning. The consistency of this shadow is rather peculiar, it's a mousse with  a sponge like texture that glides on like a dream. You can use it as a base, a wash of colour all over the lids or even just to line the eyes. It does come with a mini brush for application if your in a pinch.

I'm looking forward to seeing how this holds up against my oily lids, hopefully they last longer than the Mac paint pots on me * fingers crossed*

Have you tried these eye shadows? Thoughts?

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters - Lip Swatches

So as promised here are the swatches of the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters that i recently purchased and did a first impressions HERE. Now I have since bought a few more colours and there will be a second post with swatches of them.

So what do i think:
Lasting power, nothing great than any ordinary lippy. 2 hours of wear before i need a touch up.

They do not dry out my lips surprisingly as i tend to get very dry lips when i use most lipsticks and have to apply a balm in between touch ups, i guess the name lip butters does have some truth to it;)

Colour selection is pretty awesome, all though as you can see from the swatches some colours do not suit me, I am totally in love with Tutti Frutti and Red Velvet. Basically there is bound to be a colour that you might like.

Peach Parfait is the only sparkly shade I have and it's definitely not gritty in texture and decently pigmented. The other shades just have a glossy finish to them.

Creme Brulee
Berry Smoothie

Pink Truffle

Peach Parfait

Tutti Frutti

Red Velvet

I'm loving these lippys at the moment, I find i tend to reach for them more so than my other lippys. And considering the amount I have, this says a lot:)
Look out for Part 2 soon.

First Impressions - Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters

These are all the craze on Youtube/ in the blogosphere. Our lucky fellow bloggers from across the pond have been raving about these lippies . So i finally gave in and purchased 6 of these lippies through trusty old eBay and these are my first impressions on them.

Initially as i swatched them on my hand they struck me as to being waxy in texture as opposed to creamy which was what I imagined them to be. I mean come on, lip butter, no brainer rite. So i was a little disappointed there, but as i kept playing around with them them, trying them on my lips i came to the conclusion that despite not being as moisturizing as i expected them to be, i really like them.

Main reason being, i can see myself being able to slap this on when i'm in a pinch. These are definitely the kind of lipsticks you don't have to think about when applying. The lighter shades give a slight colour and glossiness to the lips and the darker shades are more pigmented if you want a little more colour on your lips. Despite being waxy in formulation they feel good on my lips, so it feels like a balm but with more colour payoff.

My  picks out of the bunch are Tutti Frutti, a gorgeous coral which is so gonna be my go-to for summer and Red Velvet. This is definitely a red i will be able to rock in the daytime, in fact anytime without feeling odd.
I haven't as yet tested out they're lasting power and how moisturizing they are etc as i have been stuck in my room studying and having a whole week of no makeup, so I will be doing lip swatches in an upcoming post together with my final thoughts on them after i give them a proper test run.

Top to bottom: Creme Brulee, Peach Parfait, Pink Truffle, Tutti Frutti, Berry Smoothie, Red Velvet

Overall based on first impressions, I am impressed. So impressed that I  have already put in another order online for other shades!!!I'm crazy i know ;)

Nyx Round Lipstick Swatches Part 3

This is a continuation of my Nyx round lipstick collection. You can see swatches previously done HERE and HERE. I picked up a couple more of their older and some new shades they recently came out with. I always tend to pick these up when Cherry Culture has a 20% sale ever so often as I feel these lipsticks are inexpensive and just a great way to play around with different shades witout breaking the bank.

Just a heads up. I seem to have picked a range of pink lipsticks, but hey, a gal can never have too many pink lipsticks now, can she;)

L to R: Blush, Stella, Chic, Muse and Cocoa

Blush - a cool toned baby pink, the kind that i can easily pull off.

Stella - Another baby pink very similar to blush but slightly brighter, as usual swatches online never do help, oh well thank god i love my pinks!

Chic - hmmm maybe i really wasn't in the right frame of mind when i made this purchase. This is a tad lighter and pinker than blush and a little frosty in real life.

Muse - a frosty silvery pinky colour that i'm actually not a fan off, might pawn this one off to a friend. A little too frosty for my liking.

Cocoa - Finally something different:) A darker brown that i actually really like, suits my skin tone well and great for a darker nudie lip day.

Sleek True Colour Lipsticks Swatches

I thinks i have become addicted to lipsticks. I thought I had a problem with blush but no, definitely need a lipstick ban in place now. So I was watching a lot of British youtubers rave about the Sleek True Colour lippys and I thought heck i need some in my life, rite?Common i'm trying to justify these purchases. I made an order on the Sleek website and voila after 2 weeks, received them. These are the three shades I picked up.

Papaya Punch is a matte lippy that to be honest i don't like. Gorgeous colour but it tugs when your applying it. Definitely not a smooth application and if your lips are even a tiny bit flaky, this will just accentuate it. Such a pity because it's such a gorgeous colour!

Peaches and Cream , a sheen finish is a gorgeous peachy nude, perfect for a dramatic eye. I quite like this, it definitely did not make me look dead as many nudes would. I find it hard to find a good nude lipstick for my skintone and this topped with a nude gloss might just do the trick.

Finally Coral Reef,  also a sheen finish. Even from the picture you can see it has a glossy finish. This colour is bright and i mean BRIGHT in your face! But i think its perfect to jazz up a simple outfit day or night. Put this baby on and BAM lips in your face!

Have you tried Sleek True Colour Lipsticks? yay or nay?

Urban Decay 24/7 Liners

Sorry about the lack of consistent posting guys, i'm in the midst of exam season and i am a massive stressball at the moment. Have just taken a few minutes here and there to write up some post. I promise normal posting will resume after the week is over.

Anyways, today i'm gonna talk about eye liners of the pencil kind. So I know Urban Decay 24/7 liners are pretty much the Maserati of this category but I'm not too sure about that. I feel the Milani Liquifeye could give them a run for their money but I still do like the Urban Decay as they have a wide range of colours and do a pretty decent job.

I know they need sharpening:)

I picked up a few mini liners in a set from Sephora  while back just to give them a go. I personally find they apply better on the upper lash line than the waterline. That being said I usually use them as a pop of colour on my waterline especially on my "no eyeshadow days", which have been pretty frequent recently. I guess if you layer it on, it does apply more pigmentedly than if you only did one swipe. They last pretty much all day and come of easily with any eye makeup remover. I like them because not only do they have a wide range of colours but different consistencies as well i.e. some of them have micro glitter flecks to give an extra sumthing sumthing to your eyes :)

L to R: Whiskey, Zero, Bourbon, Crash, Underground & Gunmetal

I love trying out different brands of coloured eyeliner but I have to say Milani Liquifeye *my HG liner* wins hands down. Hopefully they come out with a wider range of colours but till then these babies do a lovely job.

Blush Love- Nyx Cream Blush

Lately i've been on a cream blush kick. I love layering a cream blush under my powder blush just to give a slight dewy finish and make my powder blush pop. I started out my cream blush craze with Nyx and all though I have tried other brands i find myself reaching for my Nyx cream blushers more frequently than the others. These are the blushers I have in my collection at the moment and i thought i would share it with you guys.

Now these blushers are extremely pigmented and sooooooo creamy. When i say creamy i mean CREAMY:) I would even go as far as saying they're much more creamier than my Mac Cremeblend blush, so yes it's a big claim but I love 'em. They blend flawlessly, look amazing and all thought they may not last the whole day, i'm pretty happy with the product overall. Definitely high on the twinxntrax recommend list.

Clockwise from bottom right: Glow, Hot Pink, Rose Petal, Tea Rose

L to R: Tea Rose, Rose Petal, Hot Pink, Glow

I have to admit that out of the 4, Glow is hands down my all time favourite. It's a very natural colour that actually does to my cheeks what it says, glow!

You can purchase Nyx Cream Blushers at CrushCosmetics or CherryCulture.

Not a Virgin Anymore

I popped my Inglot cherry....as the title suggest. So I caved in and purchased my first 10 pan Inglot palette...and yes people it is so worth the hype!!!!! The lovely MUA was so excited to help me, ' the Inglot virgin', I guess she could sense my excitement:)

I haven't had a chance to actually use them yet, but just from swatching I can definitely tell you that these babies are extremely buttery and smooth.  I will be using them this weekend for a FOTN so watch out for that. Also love the packaging, it's perfect for travelling as it feels really secure and sturdy.

Unfortunately due to extreme excitement and stupidity I threw away the packaging of the individual colours which have the numbers of each colour...so i'm sorry:(

But if your looking to try out some of these, just go in and start swatching away. There's a ton of colours to choose from and it's totally up to you what type of palette you choose to make..which is definitely the fun part!!

Nyx Round Lipstick Swatches Part 2

This is a continuation of my Nyx round lippy collection. Have a look at the first part here if you haven't checked it out yet.

L to R: Tea Rose, Fig, Louisiana, Doll, Femme

Tea Rose -  Another famous Nyx colour within the beauty community. One of my favourites, definitely use this the most out of the bunch. Its a great everyday lip colour, highly recommend it.

Fig - this looks pretty similar to Tea Rose, just a touch brighter. Another extremely wearable daily colour. Definitely a must have if your into pinks.

Louisiana -  this is a much bolder colour for me personally. I bought this with the aim to ease myself into some bolder pink colours.

Doll - a dusky rose colour which is very neutral and easy to wear. Note to self..must wear this more.

Finally Femme - a darker pinky/reddy coral colour which is quite bright in person. Once again a bolder colour for someone like myself, but I can see myself wearing this more in the summer.

So there you go, these are basically all the Nyx round lippys that I own. Hope it helps you to kinda figure out how some colours look like. If you have any suggestions on other colours that I should try out or even some of your favs, let me know:)

Nyx Round Lipstick Swatches Part 1

I thought I would do some swatches of all my Nyx round lippys. I have a few that I have accumulated over time especially after hearing youtubers/bloggers rave about these babies.

Now in my personal opinion, these lippys are creamy but not moisturizing. I find after about 4 hours of wear and re-applying, my lips tend to feel dry. So I always apply a lip balm before applying any of these lippys.

Apart from that these are great. They come in a variety of colours, extremely pigmented and affordable. Even if you'r a neutral gal like myself or love a bold lip there's a whole range of colours to experiment with.

L to R- Snow White, Thalia, Ceto, Indian Pink and Frapuccino

First up is Frapuccino - this is a new one to my collection and looking at the swatches I thinks it's gonna be my go-to lippy of the coming week.

Indian Pink - a gorgeous pink with a goldy sheen. Worn this several times now and always get compliments when I have it on.

Ceto - If your medium to medium dark skin-toned and looking for a good nude colour I suggest getting your hands on this. It's a perfect nude colour with gold undertones, just gorgeous.

Thalia - This is a well known colour in the beauty community, and I totally understand why. A gorgeous cool toned pink, a nice pop of colour to a neutral eye.

Snow White - A dark blood red colour that adds a little drama to the face.
