Butter Me Up

I did go a teensy bit crazy, I'm pretty sure that's what your thinking, but wait hear me out. There was a good reason for this. Ozsale was having a sale on Butter London nail polishes for $14 AUD each, how could i say no!  don't answer that

Here's what i picked up

Macbeth, Trout Pout, Jaffa, Artful Dodger
Marrow, Toff, Queen Vic, Scoundrel
Scoundrel
My thoughts;
Where have you been all my life Butter London??? These are definitely luxe polishes in my book, maybe cause i did get them for much cheaper than what they normally are, around $22AUD i have a greater love for them but seriously in all honesty, they are amazeballs for lack of a better word *excuse the vocab*

Opaque, vibrant, long lasting i.e minimal tip wear and lasted 4 days no chipping. Gorgeous shades and just a joy to apply. One con i have to say is i wish the brush was slightly wider, it's a little narrow for my liking but hey everything else outweighs that.

Have you tired Butter London polishes?

NOTD - Sinful Colors Cabana

Just a quick post today, I have several mid semester exams coming up and am extremely stressed! When will this end!!! I do find that when exams are around the corner, one way i tend to procrastinate besides watching a crap ton of beauty videos is to paint my nails every 2 days sometimes.

This was a shade i hadn't even used before, shame on me i know.

Pretty impressed with Sinful Colors, they are around $2.50 on Cherry Culture and i picked up a few shades when they had a 20% discount sometime ago. Gorgeous pinky berry shade, opaque in 2 coats and lasted the whole  2 days. I think for the price, they are  pretty amazing nail polishes.

NOTD - Illamasqua Nomad

I can safely say this is by far the most expensive nail polish i own in my entire crazy obnoxious nail polish collection. I just had to have it after seeing numerous blogpost pop up within the beauty blogging community. I felt instant love for this particular shade.

How do i feel about a bottle of $26 nail polish. Well, awesome opacity and extremely vibrant colour but the downside, it chipped within a day. Not worth the money i would say, even with the 20% discount Illamasqua were having, its so not worth $26. Nevertheless a gorgeous colour which could really be dupable in any other cheaper brand i feel.

What are your thoughts?

NOTD - OPI I Have A Herring Problem

I previously mentioned how much i love the new OPI Holland collection. Ok maybe it's not so new anymore. But as i was saying, i picked up a couple and this is another one that i am absolutely in love with. Unfortunately, my camera just does not do it justice.

But it's a gorgeous blue grey with silver shimmer that looks stunning particularly in the sun. Best Collection Eva. Nuff' said;)

NOTD- SportsGirl Nail It Ginger

I have always loved Sportsgirl, not only for the fashion but lately i have been loving their nail polishes. They have been impressing me with some great color ranges and constantly switching up new shades to suit the season that i'm always purchasing something new when i pop into a store.

My most recent purchase was this gorgeous pumpkin orange jelly finish shade. Now i am more of a cream finish lover but this jelly based shade just called out to me. It  looks sophisticated and fun at the same time. Opaque in 3 coats with slight nail line visible ,it lasted a good 5 days with minimal tip wear. Looking forward to purchasing more of these nail polishes. Definitely do check out the SportGirl nail it polishes next time your in store!

NOTD - Opi Wooden Shoe Like To Know?

I think one of the best nail polish collections to come out from OPI after a long time has been the current Holland collection. They have totally outdone themselves. Gorgeous shades, great formulation and aptly named colours .What more could a nail polish junkie ask for!

The fist polish i grabbed to try on when my order arrived was this.  Yes, it looks like any other  chocolate brown colour, but there's a gorgeous goldie, purply shimmer running through it that makes this polish one of a kind. I tried to capture it in the picture, unfortunately it didn't pick up, but trust me, if you happened to see this in store do take a look, it's just gorgeous and unique! To good to pass up IMHO;)

Did you pick up anything from the OPI Holland collection?

NOTD- Topshop Smashing Pumpkin

This is what i wanted Essie's Very Structured to be but that was an epic fail!  A burnt orange and like the name says, the perfect pumpkin colour. Gorgeous!
I am obsessed with Topshop nail polishes, I NEED MORE!!!! Can't wait till they make an appearance in Sydney. I'm so gonna raid that shop;)

On a side note, how amazing has the weather in Sydney been so far! Hope i didnt jinx it:)

Have an awesome long weekend everyone and Happy Easter!

NOTD - Etude House WH703

You gotta love Asian makeup brands and the lengths they go to produce cute and girly packaging. It sucks you rite in!
I had heard a ton about Etude House, and when i saw a massive store in  my home town i literally screamed. I did pick up a couple of makeup products but of i never pass up on the nail polish!!. This shade is definitely something i don't have in my mahoosive nail polish collection believe it or not.

A gunmetal grey with purple iridescence that makes it unique IMO. The wear on the polish is its only downfall. Chipping was within 2 days, pretty bad considering i have nail polishes that last up to a week with only tip wear. Oh well you win some, you lose some rite;)

NOTD- American Apparel Port

I was in the mood for a vampy colour and pulled out a polish that i hadn't used since i purchased it. Yes i'm guilty about buying products and having them sit in my collection for some time before actually using them
 * hides head in shame*
I have previously raved about the American Apparel range of nail polishes and this one doesn't disappoint either.  I love the contrast with my skintone, sometimes really dark shades just pop. It's even boyfriend approved ;)

I have a feeling this is gonna be my go-to polish in the cooler months.

NOTD- Sally Hansen Fairy Teal

I'm back from my holiday with a little rant.
Prior to leaving, i actualy had this nail polish on so technically its not a nail of the day but more of a nail of the past month.
Anyways, i hate it! Why, u ask. The colour is a gorgeous teal but this nail polish stains! Even after 5 weeks, there is a slight visible stain on my nails. I fear i may be never be able to go bare nailed again! I mean it's a lovely shade and all but if this is the results it gives, no way am i wearing this range of Sally Hansen nail polish. I've never had this problem with any brand of polish, so i was and am dissapointed and upset. #firstworldproblems

Is this only with this particular shade or do all of the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure range do this? Anyone with similar experiences?

NOTD- Topshop Art School

So my mom and I decided to do some shopping a day after i arrived in Malaysia and of course i had to head to Topshop. Now i know they've just opened one in Melbourne but Malaysia has had a Topshop now for quite some time. I always have to pay a visit when i'm back for holidays as i love the fashion and more recently been wanting to try the makeup.
Now this is the first time I've actually seen the makeup in person and i was so excited! In fact i headed straight to the makeup stand the moment i walked in and went swatch crazy. Unfortunately, they did not have any cream blushers that i wanted, but they did have some awesome nail colours and i snagged myself a few.

Art School is a pinky coral thats a cream finish. I really love coral polish on my skintone, it definitely looks great with a tan and since being in Malaysia i have really gotten a tan.  Some pros about TopShop nail polishes; this is day 5 of my manicure and it's still going strong, im quite impressed!. And the packaging, how cute is that! ok enough with the gushing.
One con i have to say, it's a tiny bottle. I was expecting a little more but hey who ever finishes a whole nail polish bottle, I for one have never;)

NOTD- Essie Very Structured

Dissapointment. Dissapointment in a bottle is all i have to say about this particular Essie polish. In the bottle/online it looked like a gorgeous burnt brown shade. That obviously didn't translate onto my nails. Instead it came out like any other chocolate coloured polish.
Oh well , you learn i guess. I swear swatches online made this colour look more like a burnt orange/chocolate shade rather than a plain chocolate. My bad.

Have you ever been disappointed by a nail polish colour?

NOTD- Australis Bombshell & Opi Excuse Moi

I've gone glitter crazy. I never thought this day would come but i have succumbed to the craze of glitter nails. Before i go into it i will be doing a seperate post on the few glitter nail polishes i have hauled recently. This post is on my first experimentation with some glitter.

Now i have always stayed away from them mainly because they're a massive pain in the behind to remove. Yes i'm a lazy, lazy girl and i do not like to spend a heck of a long time removing my nail polish.
But i was feeling adventurous, so i first picked out Bombshell as I was in the mood for a bright *bam* in your face pink exam stress maybe who knows and it turned out gorgeous.

Australis Bombshell*

A gorgeous barbie pink for a statement nail.

Then i spied this. Opi Excuse Moi, it's orgasmic don't you think. I sure do;)

The final result, i heart glitter.I played it safe though, only painting my middle and ring finger,  but i'll get there eventually.
What are your thought on glitter polishes? Are you a lazy biatch like me, or do you go the whole nine yards?

Hope you have an awesome week ahead:)

NOTD- American Apparel Factory Grey

I am a nail polish freak, there's no doubt about it and i really do seem to have a problem. I cant stop!!!
I had always wanted to try some American Apparel nail polishes for the longest time so i decided to pay a visit to the store in Sydney. And boy did I go crazy, I picked up 6 polishes as they were selling 3 for AUD$28. Not to bad i say:)

Factory Grey is a a blue toned grey that just looks very mature and classy on the nails. These polishes are definitely worth it, opaque in 2 coats and apply so smooth. I absolutely love the bottle, it's so sleek and extremely handy to store.

NOTD- Ulta3 Blue Marlin

When I first put this polish on i thought, this is definitely a toe colour. It was way to "in your face kinda blue" for my fingernail liking. As the day wore on, I thought differently. Everytime i would look down at my nails I would say out loud "they're really pretty". It's a really striking deep navy blue that just adds to a simple outfit.  I don't usually try to coordinate my outfits with my nail polish, I just go with the flow.

This polish applied opaque in 2 coats and lasted a good 5 days with minimal tip wear and no chipping. Pretty good in my books. I think the names cute too;)

Final thoughts; it would make an awesome toe and fingernail colour.

NOTD- Barry M Peach Melba

Thought I would do a quick post on my NOTD. Doesn't this scream spring, but somehow winter decided to make a comeback this last 2 days, come on sunshine you can do it;)

This is the perfect peach nail polish IMO.

Here's to the coming week!

NOTD- Opi Skulls & Glossbones & Sally Hansen's Disco Ball

I had been in the mood for grey polishes lately, i know it'a a little weird since the weather has been all sunshine and beautiful spring days. Maybe it was just because I was stressing out due to exam season. Opi Skulls & Glossbones is such a lovely murky cream grey. Really been loving my cream polishes lately and this is no exception.

However as i was painting my nails I thought to myself, i think i need a little sparkle in my life. So out came  Sally Hansen's Disco Ball. It's definitely not an* in your face glitter polish* rather it just adds a little bit of sparkle to my nails. Personally I hate glitter polishes with a passion!! Don't get me wrong, they look so pretty but they're a B*** to remove and honestly I don't have the patience for it. Nevertheless once in a while I do bust out the few glitter nail polishes i own cause they're still too pretty to pass up:)

The glitter is not that obvious in pictures but I kinda like it that way, a little understated glitter nail.

NOTD- Essie French Affair

Oh Essie, just when I had given up hope on you i.e streaky application, sheer colour, the need for 3+ coat you suprise me once again. I'm in love with this colour!! This is from the I believe Spring /Summer 2011 French Affair collection which also includes the lovely St Tropez.

French Affair is a soft pinky lilac colour that is oh so cute, very work and uni appropriate. Perfect for the coming spring months. Funnily enough all though it did apply slightly streaky initially, it only took 2 coats for this opacity. So keep it up Essie!!! You have some really gorgeous colours, if only your formula worked well all the time:)

NOTD- Sally Hansen First Blush & China Glaze Afterglow

For those of you in Sydney you know that recently we have had CRAP-TASTIC weather ( I had to emphasize that) over the past week and i needed a perk me up. I'm already swamped with uni test and assignments so having crappy weather on top of that did not help. I needed a perk me up and that came in the form of pink nail polish.

Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in First Blush & China Glaze Afterglow
First Blush applied a little streaky and needed 3 coats to be opaque. Afterglow is a sheer polish with a pretty pinky purple sheen, perfect as a top coat.

Pretty pinks always make me feel happy and ultra girly. What's your beauty perk me up?
