First Impressions - Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters

These are all the craze on Youtube/ in the blogosphere. Our lucky fellow bloggers from across the pond have been raving about these lippies . So i finally gave in and purchased 6 of these lippies through trusty old eBay and these are my first impressions on them.

Initially as i swatched them on my hand they struck me as to being waxy in texture as opposed to creamy which was what I imagined them to be. I mean come on, lip butter, no brainer rite. So i was a little disappointed there, but as i kept playing around with them them, trying them on my lips i came to the conclusion that despite not being as moisturizing as i expected them to be, i really like them.

Main reason being, i can see myself being able to slap this on when i'm in a pinch. These are definitely the kind of lipsticks you don't have to think about when applying. The lighter shades give a slight colour and glossiness to the lips and the darker shades are more pigmented if you want a little more colour on your lips. Despite being waxy in formulation they feel good on my lips, so it feels like a balm but with more colour payoff.

My  picks out of the bunch are Tutti Frutti, a gorgeous coral which is so gonna be my go-to for summer and Red Velvet. This is definitely a red i will be able to rock in the daytime, in fact anytime without feeling odd.
I haven't as yet tested out they're lasting power and how moisturizing they are etc as i have been stuck in my room studying and having a whole week of no makeup, so I will be doing lip swatches in an upcoming post together with my final thoughts on them after i give them a proper test run.

Top to bottom: Creme Brulee, Peach Parfait, Pink Truffle, Tutti Frutti, Berry Smoothie, Red Velvet

Overall based on first impressions, I am impressed. So impressed that I  have already put in another order online for other shades!!!I'm crazy i know ;)

Have you tried Revlon Lip Butters? What are your thoughts?

NOTD- Australis Bombshell & Opi Excuse Moi

I've gone glitter crazy. I never thought this day would come but i have succumbed to the craze of glitter nails. Before i go into it i will be doing a seperate post on the few glitter nail polishes i have hauled recently. This post is on my first experimentation with some glitter.

Now i have always stayed away from them mainly because they're a massive pain in the behind to remove. Yes i'm a lazy, lazy girl and i do not like to spend a heck of a long time removing my nail polish.
But i was feeling adventurous, so i first picked out Bombshell as I was in the mood for a bright *bam* in your face pink exam stress maybe who knows and it turned out gorgeous.

Australis Bombshell*

A gorgeous barbie pink for a statement nail.

Then i spied this. Opi Excuse Moi, it's orgasmic don't you think. I sure do;)

The final result, i heart glitter.I played it safe though, only painting my middle and ring finger,  but i'll get there eventually.
What are your thought on glitter polishes? Are you a lazy biatch like me, or do you go the whole nine yards?

*Disclaimer: I received this product as part of the Australian Beauty Blogger Weekend (ABBW) goody bag. This does not affect my thoughts and opinions on the product. I am and will always be 100% honest :)

FOTN- Knock on Wood

I've been totally MIA, sorry guys but my exams start this week and i'm stressed. Stressed to the point my credit card is suffering due to my destressing methods of online shopping when i'm bludging read studying.

Anyways back to the post. Here's a FOTN i came up with for a night out several weeks ago. Ah i miss dressing up, lately its just been moisturizer i.e i look like crap. Such is a life of a uni student;)
Oh well at least i have my online purchases to look forward to.

Face - Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation Sandy Beige, Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer Natural Beige, Mac MSFN Medium Dark.
Cheeks - Nars Laguna Bronzer, Milani Baked Blush Berry Amore, Benefit Moon Beam Highlighter.

Eyes - UDPP, Mac Paint Pot Nubile, Wet N Wild Colour Icon Knock On Wood, Benefit BadGal Lash, Mirennese Tight Liner Foxfur Brown.
Lips - Mac l/s Mehr, Nyx Round l/g Pinky Natural.

I have to say I have been loving these Wet N Wild Colour Icon Palettes. They're just so easy to chuck into your  makeup bag and come up with a look without having to dig through your collection. Very blendable and extremely smooth all though, because they're so super soft, when you tap your brush into it beware of it crumbling.

Nyx Round Lipstick Swatches Part 3

This is a continuation of my Nyx round lipstick collection. You can see swatches previously done HERE and HERE. I picked up a couple more of their older and some new shades they recently came out with. I always tend to pick these up when Cherry Culture has a 20% sale ever so often as I feel these lipsticks are inexpensive and just a great way to play around with different shades witout breaking the bank.

Just a heads up. I seem to have picked a range of pink lipsticks, but hey, a gal can never have too many pink lipsticks now, can she;)

L to R: Blush, Stella, Chic, Muse and Cocoa

Blush - a cool toned baby pink, the kind that i can easily pull off.

Stella - Another baby pink very similar to blush but slightly brighter, as usual swatches online never do help, oh well thank god i love my pinks!

Chic - hmmm maybe i really wasn't in the right frame of mind when i made this purchase. This is a tad lighter and pinker than blush and a little frosty in real life.

Muse - a frosty silvery pinky colour that i'm actually not a fan off, might pawn this one off to a friend. A little too frosty for my liking.

Cocoa - Finally something different:) A darker brown that i actually really like, suits my skin tone well and great for a darker nudie lip day.

FOTN- Loreal Infailible Shadows

Neutral eyes are a fav of mine. It's my fail safe eye look to go to, a shimmery champagne on the lid, darker warm brown in the crease. I love it! Goes with anything and everything and warmer colours definitely compliment my skin colour. Especially now since its summer the whole warm and bronzy looks is definitely in so, i'm in? :)

I created this looks using my new Loreal Infalilible eyeshadows. I find it's best to use my fingers when applying these shadows as a brush just doesn't seem to pick up enough product and place it down evenly. So i initially used my fingers to place the colour on my eyes then a blending brush to finish the look.

Face - Benefit POREfessional, Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation 55, Mac MSFN Medium Dark, Garnier Roll On Anti Dark Circle Concealer in Medium.

Cheeks - Mac Highlight Powder Marine Life, Benefit Girl Meets Pearl

Lips - Mac Sheen Supreme Ultra Darling

Eyes - UDPP , Loreal Infailible Shadows in Hourglass Beige on the lid and Endless Chocolate in the crease, Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Cottage Cheese as brow and inner corner highlight, Milani Liquifeye Brown, Mac Haute & Naughty Mascara.

Weekly Blush Love: Milani Luminoso

Recently my weeks have been ending on Wednesday and i get a 4 day weekend. Lucky you say, true but i have a ton of stuff to do, from assignments to weekly assessments and catching up on a ton of lectures. Hence the title.

This particular bush, Luminoso has definitely been high on rotation not only this week but all of the past month. These baked blushers reminiscent of Mac mineralized blushers are definitely worth a try. They are pigmented without being overly pigmented which sometimes i hate in a blush * hello Nars*

I have picked up quite a few of these baked blushers and i have to say they are fantastic! Luminoso is the least shimmery of the lot, not that i hate shimmer but it gives a pretty slightly shimmery glow to my face. Peachy pinks always look good on my skintone and i really love this shade.  Easily blended out and I pretty much have a peachy glow throughout my day at uni.

Have you tried the Milani baked blushers? Which are your favs?
