IMATS Haul + Swatches

I had previously been to IMATS last year, and wasn't too impressed. Namely because many of the big names weren't there and when you compared it to the IMATS in LA and London, it's pretty low key. This year, whole different story. Many more makeup brands were there namely Inglot, Mac and Illamasqua so I was looking forward to seeing them displaying their stuff. Plus I was there as part of the 85 strong ABBW team which made it all the more fun. Makeup with a whole bunch of beauty bloggers, can't get better than that rite!

Powdered Metal Ether, Cream Blusher Laid, Precision Ink Alchemy and Pure Pigment Marvel
First stop was Illamasqua. they were having insane discounts, most things were around AUD$10, so i went a little nuts.
Ether, Laid, Alchemy and Marvel

Prior to IMATS i had envisioned myself witha  new 10 pan Inglot palette. Ever since they increased their prices i have been put off by them, but i heard over twitter that they would be offering a 30% discount at IMATS and thought now's my chance to get my hands on some new shades. Of course everyone else had the same idea, so the lines were long and the wait was painful but i'm happy with the items i purchased.

Inglot lipsticks in 222 and 104

222 and 104

L to R: DS 463, Matte 327,337,344 and 354
L to R: AMC Shine 29, 35, 10, Pearl 413 and AMC 56

Finally, I picked up a few brushes, the Pod which is a beauty blender knock-off and a mini empty brush role. Overall I was happy with my purchases, might have gone a little over budget but can't do anything about that now;)

Separate to my haul, as part of the ABBW we were basically treated like VIPs, There was a mini mani/makeup/nibbles areas set up for us ladies to rest our poor feet from standing to long in the lines thanks to Royal & Langnickel. We also received a a mini brush roll from the lovely people from Royal & Langnickel which will come in handy for travelling. The people from Serge Louise Alvarez were also extremely kind to have a lucky dip of their makeup products. I managed to score myself a pretty goldie brown lipgloss. A massive thank you to the lovely sponsors for the wonderful gifts!!

What did you purchase at IMATS? Did you break the bank;)

ABBW & IMATS 2011 Wrap-Up

Last weekend the 24th and 25th September, 85 gorgeous beauty bloggers from all over the country gathered at the Novotel Sydney for the first ever Australian Beauty Bloggers Weekend, which also coincided with IMATS 2011.
Aerial view of IMATS
How was it you ask, AH-MA-ZING!!! Honestly, i have run our of adjectives to describe the weekend. But before i ramble on about the whole thing i have to thank and congratulate the two fabulous ladies who made the weekend happen. Jacie and Kimmi did a fantastic job pampering us beauty bloggers and not once did i feel unwelcomed despite not knowing anyone initially. THANK YOU LADIES!!!!

INGLOT stand, had to get a pic there!
Us lucky ladies were pampered like there's no tomorrow. The lovely sponsors definitely spoilt us rotten with gift bags stacked to the brim, that after the 1st day i had sore arms carrying everything home:) Thank you to all the sponsors for your generosity, i'm extremely gratefull to be apart of it. I can safely say that there will be numerous reviews on various products to come in the coming months.

Goodie bag galore!!Thank you to all the sponsors for spoiling us rotten:)
What i took from this, well i gained so much especially attending the numerous talks hosted by the PR companies, I may be a little hobbyist blogger but i definitely picked up some excellent tips to improve my blog. I also meet a lot of wonderful bloggers whom i had been following for ages as well as found some new blogs to follow. Shout out to Stephanie for being my ABBW buddy as we both caught the train in together on the 1st day and just hit it off.
Definitely made a ton of friends that all share a common interest, a love of all things beauty. I admit, once during the weekend i thought to myself, wow i'm having a conversation with someone regarding eye liner for 20 minutes and we were just feeding of each other with tips and tricks and you know what, it didn't feel weird, it was as i said AH-MA-ZING!!!!!

Face of Australia Masterclass, learnt so much!
I have yet to sort through all the goodie bags, but stay tuned for a IMATS haul as I went maybe a little bit crazy.

Sleek True Colour Lipsticks Swatches

I thinks i have become addicted to lipsticks. I thought I had a problem with blush but no, definitely need a lipstick ban in place now. So I was watching a lot of British youtubers rave about the Sleek True Colour lippys and I thought heck i need some in my life, rite?Common i'm trying to justify these purchases. I made an order on the Sleek website and voila after 2 weeks, received them. These are the three shades I picked up.

Papaya Punch is a matte lippy that to be honest i don't like. Gorgeous colour but it tugs when your applying it. Definitely not a smooth application and if your lips are even a tiny bit flaky, this will just accentuate it. Such a pity because it's such a gorgeous colour!

Peaches and Cream , a sheen finish is a gorgeous peachy nude, perfect for a dramatic eye. I quite like this, it definitely did not make me look dead as many nudes would. I find it hard to find a good nude lipstick for my skintone and this topped with a nude gloss might just do the trick.

Finally Coral Reef,  also a sheen finish. Even from the picture you can see it has a glossy finish. This colour is bright and i mean BRIGHT in your face! But i think its perfect to jazz up a simple outfit day or night. Put this baby on and BAM lips in your face!

Have you tried Sleek True Colour Lipsticks? yay or nay?

FOTN- 4 years

It's been four wonderful years and the boyfriend and i decided to celebrate in one of our favourite restaurants in the city. Unfortunately the  weather decided to turn on us, from a beautiful spring day to a windy winters nite *booo* Despite that we had a lovely time, beautiful food and lovely drinks for a quite night out in the city.

This is the look I came up with. Love how the eyes turned out and I didn't even use any liner, just smudged the darkest eyeshadow colour in the palette on the lower lid to create a slighly smoky effect. Might try it out again:)

Face - Benefit POREfessional, Laura Mercier Mineral Powder Classic Beige, Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Sand
Lips - Sleek Peaches and Cream, Nyx Round Lipgloss Whipped

Eyes- UDPP, Wet N Wild Palette Silent Treatment, Maybelline The Colossal Mascara

Nail Polish Crazy

I have sinned once again, but this time I have a good excuse. This massive nail polish haul was an anniversary gift from the boyfriend so its justified ;)
I've been wanting to get my hands on a few of the new collections and he thought that would make a perfect gift. I couldn't say no could I? So I placed an order with beautyzone2007 . I have always purchased the bulk of my nail polishes from her and never had any issues. I do have to mention that My Essie nail polish in Sew Psyched did arrive broken with this order. But a quick email to her and she said she would send me a replacement asap. Also the shipping for this order took literally 5 days.AMAZING!!
I also had to pick up 2 SportsGirl nail polishes when I was browsing through the store, cause i'm a nail junkie like that!

Are We There Yet, Hot And Spicy, Mod About You

Trendsetter, Life Preserver, Westside Warrior, Brownstone

Ink, Bright Now, Too Too Hot, Carry On, Meet Me At Sunset
Can you tell I seem to have an obsession with coral colours;)

What have you been hauling lately?
