Plum Foolery.

I believe this is a permanent Mac blush that does not get much love. Everyone raves about the limited edition blush which comes out with the trillionth Mac collection or a extremely rare blush that came out in last years collection etc that sometimes we tend to forget the products that are always there.

I pulled this out of my collection recently and fell back in love with it. Perfect for the winter months i feel as it has a deeper berry tone with some gold shimmer running through it.

Lip Creams....Yummy?

They smell like cupcake batter and they come in pretty colours. I was sucked in, it was a given.
I find these Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creams rather convenient for touch ups and on the go moments, no need for a mirror or fussing about with clean lines. I do have to mention though that you need extremely well exfoliated lips to pull them off. As the name suggest, anything matte will emphasis any flakiness or lines especially if your lips are cracked and dry, especially now thanks to the harsh winter weather.

Still, their affordable and when Cherry Culture has a sale, definitely snap them up. My favs of the bunch would have to be San Paulo and Antwerp. Gorgeous colours that are great for uni/work.

Product Rave: Mythic Oil

I hardly in fact i have never spoken about hair care, but i just had to talk about this product. This has been a hair product i have been thoroughly in love with unfortunately, it's gone now and it seems a little hard to come across. But more about that later.

Now i do not profess to be a hair connoisseur, in fact i hardly do anything with my hair in terms of styling but i have recently become rather obsessed with keeping my hair in a somewhat manageable  state.  A little background of my hair, I have very fine hair that tends to go frizzy at the hint of humidity. Yes i am not lying  0.1% of humidity in the air and the 'fro is out. I've tried everything, and it never seems to work, and i have to admit even this products doesn't quite cut it but despite that I absolutely love the way it makes my hair feel and smell.

The L'Oreal Mythic Oil is a leave in conditioning oil derived from avocado and grape seed oil.  As we all know oil is all the rage now in hair care *cough Argan Oil*  but in terms of consistency, i do find this a rather lightweight formula compared to the slightly greasy feel that Argan oil tends to have. I do use a generous amount massaged only to the tips of my hair. This leaves it super soft and much  less tangled. Basically my hair has never felt better since god knows!!! I used to think i had pretty unruly and unmanageable hair but this stuff seems to help. Absolutely love it.

Unfortunately i can't seem to find this product stocked in any pharmacies here in Australia. I have spotted them at a hair salon in Cronulla, so might just have to pick it up from there the next time I'm back in Sydney. If anyone knows of the whereabouts of Mythic oil, how ironic do let me know:)

Butter Me Up

I did go a teensy bit crazy, I'm pretty sure that's what your thinking, but wait hear me out. There was a good reason for this. Ozsale was having a sale on Butter London nail polishes for $14 AUD each, how could i say no!  don't answer that

Here's what i picked up

Macbeth, Trout Pout, Jaffa, Artful Dodger
Marrow, Toff, Queen Vic, Scoundrel
Scoundrel
My thoughts;
Where have you been all my life Butter London??? These are definitely luxe polishes in my book, maybe cause i did get them for much cheaper than what they normally are, around $22AUD i have a greater love for them but seriously in all honesty, they are amazeballs for lack of a better word *excuse the vocab*

Opaque, vibrant, long lasting i.e minimal tip wear and lasted 4 days no chipping. Gorgeous shades and just a joy to apply. One con i have to say is i wish the brush was slightly wider, it's a little narrow for my liking but hey everything else outweighs that.

Have you tired Butter London polishes?

Oil On My Face?!?!

I kid you not, that was my initial reaction when i started reading about using oil as a moisturizing agent. I wondered, who the hell would do that!!!
Now i do and i absolutely love the results.

So Rose Hip Oil has been getting the rounds in the beauty community as having various beneficial properties for the skin. I was always cautious about this  fad but also a small part of me was rather intrigued, So when i was given the opportunity to trial the Sukin Certified Organic Rose Hip Oil, i thought why not!

The Product
Now it is as what is says, an oil. I apply it every night , a few drops on the palm of my hands and spread gently onto my entire face including the neck. I find it does absorb pretty quick and there is no residual oilyness left on my sheets or pillow which i was a little vary about. In the mornings i cleanse my face as per normal and initially i have to be honest, i felt it did nothing. But i was persistent and after about a month only did i actually feel and see a difference to my skin.  Not only in texture but overall appearance was just to put it in simple words lovely ;) Smoother to the touch and an overall glowy look to the skin.

The Packaging
I do like how it comes with a dropper, could be the pharmacist in me but this just makes dispensing the amount of product easier. I generally use 2-4 drops for my entire face and whatever residue is left i just rub it into elbows, after all it is a moisturizer. Also i do find by having a dropper, i do not waste a lot of the product and trust me a little of this goes a long way.

I absolutely love it, all those images of clogged pores and greasy faces have been dispelled. I think i might just be addicted to putting oils on my face now, doesn't scare me anymore!!!

Have you tired any Rose Hip Oil products? Thoughts?

The Sukin skincare range can be found in most major pharmacies.

NOTD - Sinful Colors Cabana

Just a quick post today, I have several mid semester exams coming up and am extremely stressed! When will this end!!! I do find that when exams are around the corner, one way i tend to procrastinate besides watching a crap ton of beauty videos is to paint my nails every 2 days sometimes.

This was a shade i hadn't even used before, shame on me i know.

Pretty impressed with Sinful Colors, they are around $2.50 on Cherry Culture and i picked up a few shades when they had a 20% discount sometime ago. Gorgeous pinky berry shade, opaque in 2 coats and lasted the whole  2 days. I think for the price, they are  pretty amazing nail polishes.

Rekindling My Love for Moonbeam

I love highlighting. I'm pretty sure all you ladies out there do so to. It just brightens up not only my face but also my mood just by applying some highlighter to my cheekbones. During the day, i tend to not go the shimmery/glittery route but rather i prefer a more " I'm glowing and luminous" kinda look.

Now i know i have talked about my recent love Mac Cream Colorbase in Hush quite a bit on my blog but recently while shopping my stash, I rekindled my love with Benefits Moon Beam which believe it or not was the first highlight I ever purchased.

I remember the SA steering me to this as HighBeam was a teensy bit more pink for my liking and it was instant love.  It's definitely the most used highlight out of all the ones i own.
Now liquid highlighters can be a little funny sometimes, how you ask? Well, as i apply it post foundation and blush routine i find  it tends to remove or rather slide some of my base makeup away. So the trick i found has been to pat it onto the skin which will gradually blend it evenly leaving a gorgeous sheen to the skin.

Subtle yet gorgeous, what are your favourite highlighting products?
